Power Announcement Set-up Instuctions
Panorama Elementary has recently implemented a new school notification system called Power Announcement. This notification system has new features that will make it easier for us to keep in contact with your family. To ensure the messaging system is used efficiently, always keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.
Power Announcement allows our schools to send messages using email, voice, and text messaging. Most voice calls will be sent with 435-628-6881 as the caller ID number. Text messages will be sent using a caller ID of 75589. You may want to add the phone number to your address book to help you recognize incoming calls from the schools easily.
Power Announcement is integrated with the existing PowerSchool Parent Portal. Setting up your parent contact preferences is your responsibility. Use any computer connected to the Internet and a web browser to log-on to your PowerSchool Parent account at: https://psa.washk12.org/public
If you need help or do not have access to your PowerSchool username and password, please call your child's school office directly to request this information. In the PowerSchool Parent Portal, you will now see a new link called “Power Announcement”.
Within this section of the Parent Portal, you will be able see, change, and choose your communication preferences. By default, voice calls and emails for each phone number and every email address will be set for contact. Be aware that all message notifications go to all contacts you enter. You can opt-out by unchecking the box by any phone number or email address. Add phone numbers using the following format: 435-673-1234
If you choose to receive cellular SMS text messages, tolls and charges associated with receipt of messages from the school are your responsibility and not the responsibility of the school.
Also set by default, every message type will be selected for every category. This includes Emergency Notifications, Student Bulletins, Attendance Notifications, School Cancellation Messages, and General Announcements. Opt-out of any Message Type to Receive category by unchecking the box beside that category. If you opt out of non-emergency notifications, you may miss important school information. In the case of an emergency, messages will be sent regardless of the contact preferences you choose.
